My Top 5 Dive Spots in Philippines

Here’s a list of my favorite divespots in Philippines. Unfortunately i didn’t attend any liveaboards, for example at the legendary Tubbataha Reef.

1.aApo Island, Negros Oriental

Apo island offers good divesites for beginners. You can see lots of turtles and health corals. Most of the dives are boat dives, unless you enter on the turtle sanctuary side where the majority is inhabited. If you’re a non-diver you can have a great and colorful experience while snorkeling.

2.  Moalboal, Cebu

This little town comes up with a wide range of beautiful dive spots. There is an airplane wreck and also perfect conditions to go a bit deeper for sharks. Moalboal is known for its big swarm of sardines, which will surround you as they pass by – there will be a moment of darkness 😉 It goes without saying that we spotted countless dolphins there and they also followed our boat.

3. Coron, Palawan

This is the place to be for some good wreckdiving. They’ve got around ten of them waiting for you in about 15-20m. Don’t miss out on the Barracuda Lake, which is an impressive divesite!

4. Camiguin, Mindanao

Great place to dive. You can see lots of beautiful corals, turtles and if youre lucky you might see a reef shark. Make sure you also visit the white island, a tiny strip of sand just off the coast of Camiguin.

5. Malapascua Island, Cebu
Number one for me is Malapascua Island – Monad Shoal. It’s a great Island! But you will only see the half of it if you’re not diving. Not even half an hour away from the island you will see tresher sharks coming up from the deep to catch some early morning sun at their cleaning station. If you’re lucky they’re hungry and you witness how they prey. It’s not the only good divesite in the are, there are a lot more: for example Gato Island – you’re diving trough the tunnel between two islands. Just great!

Do you dive? Where is your favorite dive spot? Tell me about your diving experience!
